Educational Experience
I found in
many of my classes, I took the initiative to extend the curriculum
to enrich my learning experience. Many times, I took additional
courses, because I wanted to expand my knowledge in a specific
area. I found my education at ENMU prepared me to succeed in
my future endeavors.
Extra Curricular Activities
The competitive
drive I have seems to be innate, as it progressed throughout
my collegiate athletics career. At ENMU, I played two varsity
sports, volleyball and basketball. I was MVP or CO-MVP for the
Lone Star Conference (LSC) for all four years I played volleyball
(a feat still un-matched by any athlete in the history of the
LSC), and for two of the four years I played basketball. My freshman
year in basketball, I received the honor of LSC Freshman of the
Year. My final year of basketball, I missed more than 13 games
during the season due to a back injury, and still led the ENMU
team in total points scored for that year. I still retain the
title of All-Time Leading Scorer for the University, and also
still hold many records in volleyball.
I was also
a member of the initial Students of Public Relations student
organization. As the inaugural group of students for this organization,
we set the standards and foundation for this organization to
thrive in years to come.
During my
time at ENMU, I was the Editor of the Silver Pack, the University
yearbook. This is when I realized how much I enjoyed designing
publications and Web pages.
